Gallery 1073 - Stirling Castle, Scotland
Stirling Castle is one the greatest fortifications in Scotland. Built on a volcanic outcrop, the castle offers superb views in all directions, which gave it its strategic importance. The restored Great Hall has been slightly controversial especially in respect of the external finish, which mirrors the methods originally used. perhaps after years of weathering it may look more subdued.
