Gallery 1057 - Narrow Gauge from Kohat to Thal - 2
This essays features slides taken during the operation of a steam hauled special train from Kohat to Thal and back. With a class ZB 2-6-2 at each end of the train you may be excused for being confused about the direction of the train. The front of the train is the bogie flat wagon which was being pushed as a precaution against bombs planted under the track! Despite this part of Pakistan being rugged with people to match, I never experienced anything but superb hospitality from the proud people of this area. It was always a pleasure to go back and experience the area again. Fond memories of one of my favourite countries.
