Gallery 1021 - The island of Cheung Chau, Hong Kong

Cheung Chau is reached from Hong Kong island in about an hour by traditional ferry. The journey takes you from a busy city to a relatively unspoilt island where the bicycle reigns supreme. There are very few motorised vehicles and those that are on the island are all battery powered even the ambulance. The population depends on the fishing fleet, which was in port with due to a Typhoon warning being in place. With fresh fish on the doorstep, you have probably guessed this one of the best places for seafood restuarants in the area.
